Just before the piano fell on him, Jim frowned sullenly.

"Could I be more fuckin' bored right now?" he asked himself.

"Not fuckin' likely," he replied.

"Are other kids inside playing Grand Theft Auto III right now and I'm not?" he asked himself.

"Yes, that is correct."

"And why is that?

"Because I told Mrs. Fabian the truth when she asked me what I thought of Teddy Martin's diorama of the Alamo. It looked like a pile of crap."

"Well, that doesn't seem right."

"Fuck no, it's not right. Now I'm sitting outside the goddamn school while everyone else gets free time on the computer."

"Could this suck any harder?"

Luckily, the piano they dropped on him was small, about 5x6x6 inches and was made of cardboard. It took about 3 seconds to fall from the roof of the school to the bike parking lot where Jim sat by himself.

"Ha, ha, what a jerkoff!" said one kid to another on the roof.

"What the fuck," said Jim. He looked up.

"Goddammit! Now I'm totally going to kick some ass.”
